In dedication to the favourite flower season... Peonies are love.
5.11 am. The sound of the alarm breaks the morning silence, but I already have been awake for 20 minutes or so. I was feeling slightly excited. Lots of thoughts in my heads swirling around, one after another. It is the 8th of May on the calendar, my birthday. Interestingly enough that's not what excites me, but a journey ahead. Literally, I had a plane to catch.
I don't remember having to fly somewhere on the day of my birthday, ever. Now I think I should do that more often! I didn't care much for the birthday itself but I was striving to see my family and spend the upcoming days together on a resort. A much needed change of routine, the surroundings, and the climate (bye bye grey London). I still ended up working through the whole stay, hence the absence of a tan, but it was more than enough just to be with those whom I love to feel relaxed. Lots of local strawberries, splashes, sisterhood fights for the inflatable swan whom my sister gave a really weird name only a little child would understand, and many other heartfelt moments that we have experienced together...
My little sister and I had a blast photoshoot about a month ago on the coast of Turkey. I loved working/having fun together with her, though doing something like this may pose certain challenges, eg. shouting at your sister like you would never shout at a client or bursting out laughing and not being able to concentrate on taking 'professional' shots. Anyhow, I wish we could do this more often so that I could capture you grow, get prettier with every day, and feel more prominently how you are becoming my closest friend.
You will reach great heights, I know you will. Never doubt yourself.
As Alice said 'The only way to achieve the impossible is to believe it is possible.'
I love you, little doughnut.
P.S. A separate blogpost with all the little moments I've captured during our stay there is coming your way some time soon! (hopefully ha)
